Default Computer Startup Problem

Okay, I just got my computer whiped a little while ago and started from scratch. And everything was working completely fine until this one day I started the computer up and Windows loaded fine, and then I logged into my name, and as my screen loaded up, the computer just restarts. Didn't touch anything, just restarted. Then sometimes when I try to log on, when my screen loads, I get the Blue Screen of Death that says there was an error in a program. The program starts with VXD if that helps. But then if i restart, its completely fine. And I'm so confused. So please lemme know what you think it could be.

By the way, I have Windows 98. I'm not sure if that makes a difference but, yeah.

Default Re: Computer Startup Problem (Please look)

This could be down to many different things, from corrupt drivers to conflicting programs. Have you updated any drivers for example the graphics card ones, if so uninstall them and try it. If not I suggest going into safe mode and run msconfig goto startup and uncheck everything and reboot. If that works, go back to safe mode and check each one at a time and reboot into windows. Now if to goes into the BSOD you've found the problem. Go back into safe mode and uninstall the program causing the problems.

Post back if these suggests didn't/did work.
