Default Computer Start Problems

Hi,

This morning I went to turn on my laptop and I got the message "No operating system was found."

I have a sony vaio FZ190.

I get the Vaio screen then "No operating system was found."
I have a recovery disc so I tried that and it can't seem to find the hard drive.
I can't reinstall the OS from the recovery disc either because it can't find the hard drive.

Am I just completely out of luck here? Are there any kind of programs I can get to get into my hard drive or is it just corrupt and unaccessable comepletely? Any help or feedback is appreciated D:
