Default Computer slow after Vista-XP tranformation

So because I was having Wireless problems with my vista I decided to install XP Pro onto my new system I bought a few months back.

Anyways, I had no complaints with Vista other than the Vista lag I was having, it was fast and I had no complaints, however now after installing XP Pro onto my computer it is very slow when I click COD4 Mulitplayer to join a server or start up. I have the same problem when exiting.

When Vista was installed I could be at my desktop to a server in 15-20 seconds playing.... Now it literally takes a minute or two...

My system Specs:

AMD Dual Core 2.4
2 Gb 5300 Ram
8600GT 256mb Twin Turbo
500 GB HD
Asus m2n-mx-se Mobo

Anyone know why this after putting XP on here it takes so long to load both up and exit? Also, I have downloaded and installed all the drivers and what not from Asus for XP since I was doing the transition.
