Oh if ya have a multi meter test ya PSU, i know its new but if its a cheapie it could still be causing ya problems

Well it's not the Graphics card, tested out my 6800 gt in it. It did the exact same thing, Pretty sure it's either the mobo, or processor.

Possibly the ram, but I highly doubt it.

Check your CPU temps, run a game windowed and watch it, if the temps never get critical, then then is not the problem. As far as I know, if there is even the slightest thing really 'wrong' with a processor, the whole computer doesn't work..

This really sounds like a bad PSU unit.

The PSU, is brand new, I really suppoes the only way to test it out is to stick another psu in it.

I've got one in another pc I can use for the time being. Thanks all for your input.

I had a spare gig of ram I pulled out of my other pc (still has a gig so no complaints), we'll see if it does it now.
