I am running XP and when I setup my UPS (Battery Backup) in the "Power Options" (I use an APC 500 battery backup) it causes my computer to shut down. And when I reboot it immediately shuts down after reboot is complete. I reboot again and the same thing happens. I had to boot in safe mode and change the settings back to "None" in the Settings of UPS. Anybody know why this is happening? Is it even necessary to set that up in the "Power Options" settings? It seems to work just fine with it set to "None". Thanks in advance.

Hmmm, this could be a Power related problem. The weak link here seems to be the UPS and the Power Supply of the PC. Try changing these two things and it should be fine. Some UPS have replaceable batteries. Also check if there are any loose wires on the motherboard, UPS, etc.
Be careful here. This constant restarting could even lead to Hard Disk problems.
