Default Computer sending emails

hello. my computer keeps sending emails by itself to addresses and domains i've never heard of. McAfee anti - virus says there isn't a virus on the pc. at least 300 emails have been sent today. problem only started after i opened outlook express today to see if there were any emails. any ideas as to what could be wrong would be appreciated. thank you

thats definitly a virus IMO, you need to get another virus scanner to see if that picks it up. also take a visit to www.pcpitstop.com, they detect a lot of stuff
