Computer runs choppy after keeping on for a while, Sound skipping and mouse skipping

This started happening since yesterday. After having the computer on fora couple of hours the mouse and display started to "Skip frames" and audio also skipped along with it. It is happening on everything, not just the sound. The cpu isnt under a load and the memory usage is only around 30%. I think i recently updated my nvidia video card driver to 175.19 and it could be the problem. Any suggestions?
