Default Computer running like a snail all of a sudden

Hello,

My laptop, for no real reason, has suddenly started running insanely slow. It takes ages to boot up and the CPU use is erratic, constantly flicking between about 60%-100% use between seconds.

I've done a virus/adware scan, which has come up with nothing serious. The only thing that's been changed on it recently is that Realplayer has been installed, then uninstalled.

I've done a HijackThis log, shown below. I'd appreciate any help.

You are running way to many programs in my opinion. What are the specs of your laptop?

It's not actually my laptop, it's my dad's. It's a 1.6Ghz centrino (single-core) with 1GB ram, it's a couple of years old and i always tell him he ought to run less on it but it is kept clean and he's adament it suddenly started running ridiculously slow (and it is ridiculous; it's almost unusable) all of a sudden.

Would you just suggest uninstalling loads of programs which aren't used?

Run a defrag, and disk clean up in system tools also try "Ccleaner" and see if that helps any.

Leave it on, BSOD, Physical mem. dump lol

Is it a Dell?

Defrag and crapcleaner wont do anything at this point. Unless you have 3 years of temp files :P or something. Of course, you should still run them...

Tell your dad you have to end alot of those programs.. it might have worked before.. but when a man gets old he cant run the mile anymore :P

Or you can just backup all important files and reformat lol. That usually works or at least if it doesn't then you know something is toast.

Why are you running Microsoft SQL and mySQL?

Hey, cheers for all the replies. Ran all sorts of programs to defrag and clear crap, none found much but all cleared. As i said, the laptop is kept in really clean condition as it's a business unit, it's a VAIO for the person who asked if it's a Dell.

It's the fact that it's suddenly working incredibly slowley and today it's noticabley more slow than yesterday; it takes over 5 minutes to boot everything up. There's a lot of unneccesary stuff running on it, yes, but because this happened literally overnight (after installing then uninstalling Realplayer apparently, though i don't see how that could do anything), i makes me think it's something else.

Also, i don't know what Microsoft SQL and mySQL are, is that a big deal?
