Angry Computer restarting itself constantly!

My computer restarts itself all the time, when I'm using it, when it's sitting idle and especially anytime I try to run any type of 3D program to include the visual enhancements in Media Player. I don't get it. I also get lots of program errors and crashes. My antivirus is up to date and computer has been scanned over and over again. I have formatted the HD to no avail.

Here is my setup:

-AMD Athlon 3000+ Barton Core 400 MHz FSB
-ASUS A7V8X-X Motherboard
-GeForce4 Ti 4200 (I know it's old)
-I have 1GB of RAM, two sticks of 512 MB, one is DDR400 one is DDR266 I know the 266 slows me down but don't have money for new RAM right now and I have tried to take out one stick or the other with no change in symptoms.
-SB Audigy
-Western Digital 60 GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive

I did a search, but none of the suggestions applied to me as I have already tried them. Some people told me it might be a memory problem and to get a new stick but I want some more opinions first.

Thanks

It doesn't matter what the temp is, and I have a case with 6 fans along with a 100% copper ULTRA heatsink that is good for up to 3200+ processors. I have an ANTEC 350W PSU that is only about 5 months old now.

Ahhh, my brother had the same problem. Is it restarting when your fooling with it, or after you walk away from it for a while?

Like I said, it restarts whenever, it doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing. I also have already taken out the 266 like I said and no change. I am at a loss as to what it could be.

I was getting the same problems with my comp whenever i ran games. I took it to the local shop and they told me it was an incompatibility with the ram I was using, Generic poo, so the switched it over to some nice shiny kingston booty and its all been nice. If you are running no name ram you might want to have a look.

Download Memcheck 86+ here http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4226.html

Burn the CD, boot from it and let it do a test for a few hours (if it can). Then we will know if it's memory or not.
