Default Computer not sensing printer, cant instal scanner

Hi,
We just set our dekk computer back to original factory software, basically formated the HD. When we plug in our printer adn scanner the add new hardware wizard pops up and wants to install the scanner, well either we cant find teh CD that came with it, or we never got one, the scanner is the canoscan FB 620U. Any ideas?

My second problem is the printer, we have plugged it in and when we go to "add a printer" it wants to add the scanner, plus we have some special, USB to Parrallel adaptor on the printer. We dont have any CDs for this either, any Ideas? The model is Epson stylus color 400.

Well, for your scanner, go to www.driverguide.com to find the driver.

For the Printer issue, how about using the USb port instead?

The printer is plugged into the USB port. The adaptor is a parrallel plug on the the back of the printer and a USB into the back of the computer.

We got it all fixed, thanks though.
One more thing, we have been trying to set a back ground as a photo and a green border, but now all we can see is the border and cant put any kind of back ground on.
Any ideas how we can have a photo and border background? The reall background showa briefly when switching users.

Yeah, went to properties/Destop, and selected the picture for the background, and the screen blinks off for a second like it was applied, and it still is an all green background.
