Well, I though for all you people that are new to computers, I would give you a basic run down on all the parts.

ram3pa.jpg

(RAM) - for program execution and short term data storage, so the computer doesn't have to take the time to access the hard drive to find something. More RAM can contribute to a faster PC. RAM is normally removable by being in slots on the motherboard.

Video Card, also known as the gpu. You dont need a high end video card unless you are into gaming or video/photo editing.

Optical Drive, These are used for burning cd's or dvd's. They can also be used for uploading information onto your hard drive. 52x is the fastest a cd can be burned and read, as for a dvd the fastest it can be burned is 16x and also read at 16x

heatsink1kn.jpg

Heatsink/fan. You always have to have one of these ontop of your processor or it will get to hot and fry. If your heatsink/fan were to ever fail turn off the computer right away.

This is known as a hard drive. It basically lets you hold information on it, such as pictures, songs ect. The more gb's you have the better.
1000kb=1mb
1000mb=1gb
1000gb= 1 tb

pcie16x0fw.jpg

Pci-e 16x. this is mainly used for all the new videos cards. It has the biggest bandwidth of them all. Agp is soon dying out, because pci16x is taking over.
