Default Computer Noobs..

Well, I though for all you people that are new to computers, I would give you a basic run down on all the parts.

(RAM) - for program execution and short term data storage, so the computer doesn't have to take the time to access the hard drive to find something. More RAM can contribute to a faster PC. RAM is normally removable by being in slots on the motherboard.

Video Card, also known as the gpu. You dont need a high end video card unless you are into gaming or video/photo editing.

Processor, also known as CPU, is the component in a digital computer that interprets instructions and processes data contained in software

Optical Drive, These are used for burning cd's or dvd's. They can also be used for uploading information onto your hard drive. 52x is the fastest a cd can be burned and read, as for a dvd the fastest it can be burned is 16x and also read at 16x

Motherboard, ,also known as a mainboard, logic board, or system board, and sometimes abbreviated as mobo, is the central or primary circuit board making up a complex electronic system, such as a computer.

Heatsink/fan. You always have to have one of these ontop of your processor or it will get to hot and fry. If your heatsink/fan were to ever fail turn off the computer right away.

Powersupply, also known as PSU. If you have high end parts, and a high end video card you always want more then 500watts.

These are known as pci slots, used for adding modems, firewired card , ethernet card ect.

AGP slot, these comp in both 4x/8x. They are used for video card, but soon are becoming out dated.

This is known as a hard drive. It basically lets you hold information on it, such as pictures, songs ect. The more gb's you have the better.
1000kb=1mb
1000mb=1gb
1000gb= 1 tb

Pci-e 16x. this is mainly used for all the new videos cards. It has the biggest bandwidth of them all. Agp is soon dying out, because pci16x is taking over.

Can someone please move recons post!!! Its like right in the middle. And perfects post!!!!!!
