computer freezes

whenever i right click on my hard drive icon in my computer and then exit out of the "my computer" window, my pc freezes. Is this some glitch in xp?

what do you think could be causing it? Could there have been some sort of error created on the hard drive when i installed xp?

Nah, nothing like that - and its certainly not an error in Windows. It sounds like something has gone wrong somewhere in the Explorer - what spec PC is this? What age? How long has the PC had XP on? What did it have on before?
