Computer Doesn't turn on with HD.

When I do not have a HD connected to my pc it turns on and boots like normal.

If I connect a HD, it will not turn on. It wont do anything.

What is going on. If I plug the HD into any computer it either does nothing or gives me three yellow lights on a computer.

maybe your harddrive is bad.....do you have another one to test that??

I don't think you can save your data at this point

Connect it to another computer as a slave drive, and then format it from there. Then you can try it again with your computer...unless it's hardware failure..which is sort of sounds like.

Is it IDE or SATA? If its IDE, make sure you have the cable in correctly, alot of older cables arent keyed so they can fit both ways. If the cables are correct and you have slave/master set correctly then it could be a faulty drive.
