Computer advice needed

We only use our computer for surfing the web and my son likes the RTS computer games. The problem is our 4 yr old HP xg836 will not load most of the CD ROM games we buy, WAR OF THE RINGS, EMPIRE EARTH etc., so we quit buying them.

What is the least expensive computer that you can get from Circuit City that would work with all (Wally World sells) CD ROM games? Do I need any accessories? As you can painfully see I am computer impaired. Thanks in advance

when you say 'will not load' do you think that you need a new CD-Rom drive ? Get a DVD drive for about £20.

I suggest checking up on Dell Computers....They've prety much perfected "Bang Versus Buck"

Yes. Dell plus a lot of other retailers have systems that are complete for under $500 easily.

Sounds like a CD Drive . Check the box and see if it says DVD Rom on the box . Normally the top left hand corner.

Forget Dell. You can get a pre-built system for a low price... with better components...
