Default Compressing Files

I Download a iso from an ftp and it was 400mb compressed (rar) and when i opened to see how big the file was it was 2gb compressed to 400mb i was wondering if anyone knows how to compress files that much and it is possible b/c this person did it and i tried evreything i could on winRar but never got it.

I don't think that's possible....Making a 2 gig file into a 600MB one just by compressing it????

Hmmm... could have used some kind of professional tool, which produces Rar Files?

As far as I know, that can't be done in WinRar, it can be done... but not from WinRar.

Well, look at Windows 2000 or XP. It comes on one disk with other information and files on the disk, but after install Windows is about 2GB. All from a single CD at about 450MB.

Some files have the ability to compress a lot more then others. Music and graphics are two files that don't really have room for compression.
