Compress file?

I have a 6gig file. Is there a way with winzip or any other program to make to seprate files out of it like they do online? Like make two 3 gig files and when I copy them to a location they zip into 1 file again? Maybe I am just dreaming but I thought it could be done I'm just not sure how. I have a 6gig iso game that I want to back up onto a DVD. Any info will be helpful. Thanks
