ummm... not being funny,

but to re-post it is usual to seek permission from the original authors, and if they don't mind you copying their works then it's polite to credit them.

you can't just steal text and write on the bottom that you stole it.

I agree this could be a nice sticky, (and might form a part of an FAQ thread).

but don't steal text, if you re-write this as your own info then it'll be good. but as is it's just stealing someone else's text.

I'll lock this thread now, and it can fall away and die.
if you want to write a tech guide, then write a tech guide. don't steal one and say that you wrote it.
