Ok so i have a list of components i may use in building my very first computer. I have never even worked with the inside of a computer before so a lot of help and guidance would be appreciated. So do these parts all work together:

Motherboard: Asus S1366 Intel X58 ATX A L CF/SLI

Processor: Intel E8500 Core 2 Duo Proccessor

Ram: 3x Crucial 2GB 204-Pin DDR3 PC3-8500 SODIMM

Drives: Akasa internal card reader supports 30 types of memory card, fits in 3.5" bay and HP1070i DVDRW SATA Lightscribe Black Kit

HDD: 5x 500GB Samsung HD502IJ Spinpoint T SATA300 7200 rpm 16MB Cache 8.9 ms NCQ Hard Drive

Case: X-Case Viper Case- Black - Red No Psu

Adapters: PNY GeForce 9500GT 512MB PCI-E Graphics Card
Gigabyte 802.11g 54 Mbps PCI AirCruiser G Desktop Router

Fans: Yet to find some!

PSU: Help needed unsure of how much is needed

Thats my plan so far. Any idea changes or alterations to my plan so far would be appreciated and a check of component compatability in this list would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!

Thanks but i notice that motherboard is alot cheaper than the one i originally listed: does price not determine the quality of the motherboard (Note: I am willing to spend up to £1000). Apart from that is there anything else that needs to be changed to suit the new components that you listed.

P.S. if possible could you explain what all the details for the motherboard specifications mean (I am a complete beginner). The Specs are:

- CPU: Core 2 Quad / Core 2 Extreme / Core 2 Duo / Pentium Dual-Core
- Chipset: Intel X48 / ICH9R
- Front Side Bus: 2000(OC) / 1600 / 1333 / 1066 / 800MHz
- Memory: 4x DDR3 DIMM 1600 / 1333 / 1066 / 800 / 667MHz (Max. 8GB)
- Expasion slots: 3x PCIe 2.0 x16 Slots & 3x PCI Slots
- Storage: 1x Ultra DMA 133/100/66, 6x SATA 3Gb/s (RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10) & 2x eSATA 3Gb/s
- LAN: Broadcom Dual Gigabit LAN
- Audio: Realtek ALC885 7.1 Sonar Card
- 12x USB 2.0
- Quantum BIOS
- 4-in-1 Quantum Cooler
- 8 Phase Digital PWM
- AEGIS Panel
- 100% Solid Capacitor & Ferrite Choke Design
- 1x PS/2 Keyboard
- 1x PS/2 Mouse
- 1x S/PDIF Out (Optical)
- 2x IEEE 1394a

CPU - These are the processors that the board will support.
Front Side Bus - Speeds of the FSB that are possible.
Memory - Memory speeds that are compatible.
Expansion slots -
PCI-E 2.0 X16 - Holds video cards in most cases; sometimes other devices.
PCI - Basic slots for NIC cards, sound cards, wireless devices, ect.
Storage - Goes over how many ports on the board you have. For example, SATA is the port that CD drives / Hard drives use if they are SATA.
LAN - The NIC type
Audio - the onboard audio type

so does the storage mean i can have 5 hdd's and 1 dvd drive on the motherboard

and what PSU would I need to run the computer along with 6 fans

i would say 600-1000 watt depending on how much expanding your going to do, also instead of getting the 5 500GB drives you could get 2 1 TB drives in RAID 1 for storage, ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136313 ) and a 300 GB 10,000 RPM ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136322&Tpk=10000 rpm 300GB )drive for stuff you use consistently, or if you're really going all out, a 256GB SDD is insanely fast (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233085&Tpk=256gb ssd this will be available august 12th) also if you're spending that much money you could go with a different video card (gtx 200 series) also i might go with a different case, that one seems a little small with minimal cooling i recommend the antec 900 or coolermaster haf 922. also i wouldnt get that memory get this instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227365

thanks hope i helped

p.s. i'm 99% sure newegg delivers to the U.K.

thanks 4 the advice but i am afraid i have already ordered the case and fans....

Good idea with the hdd's but that ssd looks pretty dear huh??

If I get 2 of this RAM set will everything be compatible in my computer and able to run 64 bit vista

- Got 2x 4gb kit of the ram you stated to get
