Compatibility issue ASUS & AMD..nvidia too

despite the fact that amd makes socket 939 Opteron cpus, none of the asus socket 939 motherboards display the opteron as a possible cpu solution. does this mean that opterons 1xx line is not compatible with a mother board like the asus a8n32 sli deluxe?
also whats the difference between the nvidia nforce professional, and the nforce4 sli chipsets. is the nforce4 superior?
