Default Compaq Prespario R4025US Notebook

I am looking at this laptop for typical college use... That is, taking notes, writing papers, surfing the internet, and the occaisional first-person shooter.

Anyway- here is a link to Newegg's site where I will be buying it if I choose:

What do you guys think of the specs, price, performance, etc?

Thanks,
Brian

Its ok but think about this one and save yourself some bucks so you can buy the programs instead of a 60 day trial offer

The computer you choose is ok. I'm a power user, so I wouldn't use that. Actually laptops aren't that great for gaming.

I've had nothing but bad experiences with Compaq. I would say to steer clear. Also, I feel HP needs to stick with printers and scanners. They don't do so well in the PC department either.

Consider these:

They both have faster FSBs and bigger caches. With a memory upgrade, these would be pretty sweet setups.
