Default Compaq Pasario Upgradable?

Hello,

I can remember being told that Compaq computers can not be upgraded is this true?

I need to do some video production work and would like to upgrade my ram and memory so it will perform better.

Is there any other items I should think about upgrading to help keep the system running fast and smooth?

BTW the computer uses Windows XP.

Thank You

Yes you can grow memory.
Ground yourself to the case and pull a chip, put in a static bag.
Go to your favorite store and buy an up-grade.
I think all the rest of the hardware will have to be bought from Compac.
You can upgrade your CPU.. But the expense?

The easiest and quickest way to find out what kind of memory your system uses and how much you can install is by using the Crucial System Scanner. It will "automatically analyze your computer memory information and suggest an upgrade that's guaranteed compatible".

Thank you for the help. I am thinking about just having someone build me a new computer to suite what I need to do. Since the computer will not be used for internet or anything all I really need is a fast computer with a large harddrive and with firewire and a couple DVD burners.
