Clean install on new computer

Hi everyone, I just recently put my computer together, and started it up fine, until I got a "boot disk failure". I put in the OS CD, and it started installing for a little bit, and then it asked me a question. I mistakingly pressed to wrong key, so afterwards I decided to decline the Terms of Use or w/e, and try to install it all over again.

However this time, right after BIOS I only get a blinking underscore... NOTHING will make it boot properly.

What can I do? thanks

Sounds like it's skipping over the CD and trying to boot the hard drive with the incomplete OS install.

Try booting to the CDROM again and re-running the installation.

I've tried restarting the computer, but each time it skips over the CD. is there any specific method of booting straight to the CD?

thank you for help.

Press F8 during boot. It will give you a menu allowing you to select the boot device. You can also enter the BIOS and set the CDROM the first device in the boot order.
