It has been my experience that "free" printers are free because they are garbage, and you would be better off buying a decent printer on your own. Also the "free" printers come with about 2 pages worth of ink and the cartridges are sometimes more than what the printer costs.
I agree. Usually they just give you a free printer to liquidate their stock to try to make room for the bigger, better model. I suggest to get a laptop from the retailer of your choice, and then just buy a nice printer, preferrably laser, elsewhere or on a separate PO (purchase order). Those freebie printers (I had one) aren't that great. And one thing about Dell printers: you can get those cartridges in two places in the U.S. and that's it:
1) direct from Dell, and then they ship it to you
2) get a remanufactured cartridge from Office Depot
Those are the only
places that I have seen cartridges for a Dell printer, well at least a Dell Color Printer 720.
