chkdsk utility i need help

all of a sudden this warning thing pops up and says this program is currupted plz runthe chkdsk utility. so i go run the chkdsk thing and after that nothign happens that warning thing still pops up for every program i open and its causing my programs to end can someone plz help me

What version of Windows? Try reinstalling it, see if that helps.

Failing that, I'm not an expert but I wonder if backing up your important data to DVD-RW or something and then reformatting your HDD might be in order.

That's a last resort only though, please correct me if I'm totally wrong.
