hi, new here.

i'm a newbie to all this computer building stuff, i've been using a laptop for the past couple of years and it's starting to die on me. i'm going to replace it with a desktop that i can use for some gaming (i'm not too hardcore) and other office work. here's what i got so far, can someone suggest a motherboard? i'm trying to have quality at a good price. as far as budget goes, i'd like to, keep this build around $650 so i have some extra money for a couple monitors and an operating system. all advice is welcome, thanks in advance!

meh if your really not going to be a hard core gamer go one series lower you wont need all that kick and maybe a slightly slower processor biut i would keep the you picked out as far as a mobo whats yuor budget?

If you do what rubber chicken suggested you could quite easilly overclock the 5400BE up to 3ghz in fact even beyod that and not loose much performance

however what every way you go all them components are compatible and it is a nice build

thanks for the input. i like the overclocking the cheaper processor idea, i just hope i don't screw it up. :D about using the mobo with integrated graphics, do i need to do anything to that when adding in a dedicated gpu or does it adjust automatically?

it should adjust automatically if not then you will just have to go into the bios and change it which isnt difficult

and you will only be overclocking the processor by likw 200mhz so it wont be hard to screw up
