Default Changing .Resolution in Ubuntu?

Hey guys,

I just installed Ubuntu Studio on my laptop, and I have a problem. I only installed the bottom three resolutions, and as a result, my screen is only 1/2 taken up. There are black bars all around the actually working part. Anybody know how to fix this in ubuntu? I cannot seem to access the other resolutions and I do not know another way to do it.
