Changing filetype

hmmm not sure if this is what you wnat exactly...

open my documents (or whatever folder your in) and click tools at the top > folder options > click the view tab > and just below the bit about hidden files it says "hide extensions for known file types" change that.

if its a windows media audio file (.wma) you get lots of freely available converters to change it to mp3 or whatever. Im not so sure that just renaming the file would work. depends what you want to get it as i guess.

Yeah, if you want to change the file type, just changing the extension won't work. It will still be the same file type but will open as the new file type which won't work. Get a converter. There are plenty around. Do a search at download.com or something.

Thats right you can rename it but renameing the ext will produce a Windows warning message.
You need to convert it.Download.com/Multimedia section.
