Default cd rw

i have a cd-r that has all my recipies on it. i burned it on my old computer. naturaly i couldn't write anymore after that. now on my new computer i have a dvd rw cd rw etc. i tried to put the contents of the old cd onto a read write cd but it still won't let me write to it. help

just insert the cd, open it up in windows explorer and press ctrl a (to select all the files) and copy them onto your hard drive. (i realise this could be as much as 700mb!)
once you have all files in a folder on your hd, just open up nero or whatever and create a data disc
