CD Disk Drive not reading?

Well, it doesn't appear to be reading any disks I put in for some reason .. apart from some...like my motherboard disk and Windows XP disk.

I tried putting in the Guild Wars disk, along with another game disk.. called Arcanum, and they wouldn't load up. I've tried reinstalling drivers, refitting the IDE cable... why is it doing this?

Is Guild wars a DVD? If you're drive lens is getting worn out it may still easily read CD's but have a hard time with DVDs as it requires better focus...or something.

Am I right men?

On the back of the game case it just says the requirements are a "CD-ROM Drive" .. nothing about DVD ROM.
