well some people believe defragmenting a harddrive actually boosts system performance but many tests have proven that defragmentation does not really help performance enough to make any diference.

Generally, I find the feeling of knowing it is all up to scratch and working ship shape, helps the feel of it seeming to go faster, if it is or not.

i think there's actually a scientific name for that feeling like when you think it works better but it really isn't...
