Default Cas Latencys!

Hey,

I know all the computer basics..I built my rig, but as I come here, I'm realizing how little I know compared to other people.

One of those things is Cas Latencys...I'm sorta understanding that lower is better. Why? What does it even mean?

Can someone point me to some information or explain it? Thanks =]!

Also, concerning DDR3...is it really worth right now? How much faster is it?

The RAM Guy at Corsair Support has an easy to read explanation of CAS latency and what it does: CAS Latency: What Is It, and How Does It Impact Performance?

They also have a Memory Basics Presentation that will help you understand memory and chipset basics.
