Default Capturing Video and Audio from 2 sources

Hey guys.
My parents want me to convert their old home videos from VHS to DVD. Now, I know I could just go out and buy an Ez-DVD-Maker sort of PCI card for $50 odd bucks, but I'm confident I could get this done with my TV Tuner and Sound Card.

I have a TV Tuner with a yellow composite (CVBS) port, which I can use to send the video signal from the VHS player. I then have a 3.5mm - Stereo Audio (Red and White Plugs) converter, which I can plug into my sound card's line in port to capture audio from the VHS player.

So, on the hardware side I'm set. However, I need to find an appropriate way to capture both at the same time, into 1 video file (which I can later burn to DVD). I'm sure if I spent ages, I could record two times, one for audio and one for video, then used an editing program to match them up - but beforehand, I'd like to find out if there's any simple way to do this first.

Any help would be much appreciated!
