Default Cant see a thing?

Hey I have an Acer Aspire laptop. The screen's gone, (long story ) but for the last little while I hooked it up to an external monitor and used it like that.
Yesterday I go to start it and it wont display a single thing on the screen. not the BIOS, windows, nothin.
Hooked the S-video out to my TV as a long shot, still no dice. Tried it on my friends monitor, no luck. Weird because it seems to start up to windows fine, but nothing is being displayed. Tried the keystroke to select the external monitor (Fn+F5) but it didnt work.
Help?

Can you login through VNC to confirm that it actually is booting up? Do you get a BIOS splash screen? Have you had any video issues before this happened?
