cant remove movie file!

hi,
i was doing a bit of cleaning up on my second internal hard drive, where i store all of my mp3 files.
i found a couple of old movies on there which i thought i should delete.
i selected the movies and deleted them 1 by 1.
i then came to one which would not delete, saying it was being used by another programme! i right clicked it to look at properties, however it will not show properties. i then booted into safe mode to see if i could delete it form there. no good still, it comes up with the same message!
any ideas how i could remove this movie, or why it is being used by another programme?
when i look at the programmes that are running, non are associated with movies or the like.

You could go into MSCONFIG, click the Startup tab, and disable any programs that may be using that movie file.

atomic, i already did that. the only programmes left running were my security.
