ive just got hold of some original cd's from a local nightclub but i cant play them on my pc...i explore them but they show no files at all.....is there a way to get round this?

Probably a special format for the player. Some high density players use that type of system. My Sony CD Player does it and can fit I think about 30 CDs on one. There is no way around that unless you have the codecs which generally can't be downloaded.

This is a very common problem with music cd's *.cda files showing in Explorer.Forget that they are not clickable, get Winamp, open Winamp and select your cd drive with the disk in it.Then save it to a playlist.
You have to play the whole cd or make them mp3's.for 1 at a time.
winamp.com
it's free.
:D
