Default Can't delete a big folder in windows XP Pro

Hi guys,

I have a problem that i can't delete a folder that contain about 37000 files. I right click and select delete , it pops up a delete window which tell deleting but for awhile the windows disappear but the folder still there. Is there any way that i can delete this folder ?thanks for reading.

i would try just opening the folder and deleting small groups at a time, i think deleting that many files may be too much for the recycling bin cache, just a thought

but if it would be an issue with something (like a program using them) preventing the deletion it wouldn't start deleting them, and would come up with a message saying why it won't delete. Still worth a try though.

Either do what bullzi said, or then you could try pressing shift + del which will delete them for good instead of sending them to the recycle bin.

I'd get a removal program like move on boot it will remove the folder on your next start up.
