I need help deciding between processors i am on a tight budget but i need a new processor the choices are:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103846 or this one : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103808 now the dual core one is cheaper but only a dual core but i have heard good things about this processor and the fact you have the possibility to unlock the extra cores. But also with the quad im guaranteed a quad core but the thing is i am on a tight budget so i was thinking should i go with the dual core phenom and put the extra 60 bucks toward my GPU or what? |

Personally, I think it depends on what you need it to do.
Which begs the question, what do you plan on using this for?

If you really want to save your money, then the x3 720 is a better bet than the x2 I believe. Plus, with the x3, you may be able to unlock the 4th core, if you have a motherboard capable of doing so, but there's no guarantee.

That Athlon II X4 is a great little CPU. A friend of mine built one for a customer and showed me the benchmarks and his impressions of it. You'll be happy with it as a "for now" CPU.
