Can you use the stock CPU fan?

Hey guys. I wasn't aware that when you buy the CPU it comes with a stock fan. I always thought you had to buy one for it. I'm going to my first build and I wanna make sure that you don't need a CPU fan for it? Do they work fine?

Stock CPU fans usually work fine as long as your case has decent ventilation and you're not going to be doing any serious overclocking.

my stock fan with the intel core i7 930 didnt do to good. it idled around 50 degree C and when playing runescape it stayed around 84C. so i bought the CM 212+ and now it idles around 30C OC to 3.0Ghz and max at 53C using prime95. It was using a CM HAF932 case too, so if you was using a small case i say it would be hotter. And the cpu wasnt OC either it was at stock at2.8Ghz.
