Girlfriend's got one of those, it's not bad. I mean, it's not going to win a Firestrike competition or really be able to play the Witcher or BF4, but she plays SIMs and stuff on it and it's fine

Depends what you need it for?

If i were you i'd splash a bit on an SSD too, its probably the best pound for pound performance upgrade you can do to a PC with a traditional spinning drive.

So the price is good for a ex display or should I wait for the price to come down?

You won't get much else with an i5 for that price, I'll give it that.

I'm normally hugely against buying pre-built systems (especially common HPs or Dells) if the end requirement is gaming, but it looks like a tidy find if you're on a budget.

Problem with pre-builts is that they use generic PSUs. They may be ok they may not depending on how much wattage you're going to demand from 'em.

So if you're going to upgrade to a better video card or add devices think about replacing that PSU too.

The alternative of course, since by the sounds of it, collectively we've all decided you're replacing half of it anyway, is this...

Yeah I agree with everyone else. You can get more bang for ya buck with you custom build.
