Default can I use a conventionale TV blue ray connected to a PC

can I use a conventionale TV blue ray player connected to a PC to rip blue ray disc.s

or must a PC type BD be used?

You could, but you would need some type of video capture device. It is much faster and easier to use a BD-ROM drive.

I'm concidering a portable BD drive connected w/ 2 USB cables one for data other for power

you'r thoughts on a USB type BD player compared to a desktop type BD player?

The internal one would be much faster and more inexpensive than an external one.
