I have an Compaq D510 Ultra Slim Desktop and I cannot find a small fan/heatsink that fits the clearance.

If I bought this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835151105

Would it fit in a standard sized computer, or is that specifically made for a rackmount and rackmount only?

It also says it is compatible for:
Celeron ~ 2.8GHz (FC-PGA2)
Celeron D ~ 2.8GHz 345
Pentium 4 ~ 2.8GHz ( Hyper Threading Northwood )
Pentium 4 ~ 2.8GHz (Willamette / HT NW)

I have a FC-PGA2 P4 Socket 478 2ghz Northwood, that would work fine right?

If this is all good, last step is to get one of those hard disk connectors considering this crappy motherboard does not even have a CPU fan power source.

I don't know man, compaq's are just simply difficult to upgrade. It seems they're built that way. You take your chances: it might work, it might not.

Every socket 478 are having the same fan design. Yes, it is compatible with your system :)

KK Thanks, purchased the adapter and fan. Hopefully this will work.

Alright, thanks so much for the help. I finally finished my comp, and it works great.
1028mb Ram
2ghz P4 Northwood
Total computer cost me under $200 :) Thanks again.
