I have a Pentium 4 (socket 775) and want to upgrade to a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9505 2.83Ghz Socket 775
(this one http://www.einfo.co.nz/shop/product_...0&ref=pricespy ) which is also a socket 775 I want to upgrade so i can use my gtx 460 A friend gave to me thanks for any suggestions my specs 2gb ram 500gb hdd geforce 210 |

providing your motherboard can support that cpu it should be fine

do you know the make and model of your motherboard?
Intel core duo 2 uses socket 755 Pentium 4 uses 423, 478 or 775 so your motherboard might not support it

The chipset is a 945G, so it probably won't support it. I didn't see anything else about other CPUs other than P4 and Celeron. I'd try out a Pentium D, but other than that, no.

I7 950 Radeon 6870 Pentium is now to old |
