right now my comp is 512mb ddr333, if i take the ddr333 and put ddr400 will the mother board do it as ddr400 or still ddr333?
btw motherboard said it can support only up to ddr333, but?

i think that ddr400 won't work in a ddr333 motherboard and am pretty sure of this but there is probably a way around it by like chaning the clock or sumin but that pretty much defeats the purpose of ddr400 me thinks o_O

ddr400 ram is smart meaning, it can back clock its self to the ddr333, but if your board only supports up to ddr333 then u just wont get the benefits of ddr400 example--

you have 2 dimm slots with 1 512 stick of ddr33 and 1 512 stick of ddr400, you put both of them in and then you have 1 gb of ddr333 ram

ddr333 ram and ddr400 ram are the only types of ram that do this.

You can add a DDR33 into the mobo. It will just run at DDR333 if the mobo doesn't support it or you still have DDR333
