Default Call of duty 4

Hmm so like everyone else in this world I get the error message when trying to start up COD4 Multiplayer on my computer,
IDK how to fix it
I think I have the latest patch installed
this is a fresh format of windows to....

dont run xfire with COD4, also you shouldnt have installed the 1.4 patch, its pretty buggy, you cant even see your proper pings with it. im waiting for the next release to update COD4.

im on XP and i can run xfire with cod4 fine :confused

If you are having troubles loading COD4, try this:

Go to this folder and rename the problem file to a .BAK file. Note that you are not replacing anything, just renaming this file:

C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\miles\mssmp3.asi (original filename)

C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\miles\mssmp3.asi.bak (new filename)

Cod4 works ok for me with the 1.3 patch.

i use COD4 1.4 patch with xfire, the only problem i can see is that your using Vista...

The problem isnt Vista
Xfire made an update that fixes cod4
i tried running cod4 w/o Xfire ant it still crashed
Thier is nothing wrong with vista so haters back off

Have you tried my suggestion? It seems to have worked for others with the very same error occurring with the iw3mp.exe file.
