Default Cable Modem

Is there a way from a normal Cable modem to attach to 2 computers with a wire? I know you can do it with the wireless router but Ia m looking for a cheaper way. And if you can is the internet slower if both the computers are on at the same time?

Default Re: Cable Modem

You will need to get a router, wired or wireless. And also you will need cables to connect the pcs to the router. If two pcs are on line, it will be slower, as the router divides the connection.

1 pc online : full speed
2pcs online : 1/2 speed, 1/2 speed
3pcs online : 1/3 speed, 1/3 speed
etc, etc, etc
If I help you, I welcome Reputation Points to show your thanks. I won't forget it!
