Buying a new laptop

The 3650 is the replacement of the 2600 XT, which competes with the 8600GT (performance wise), the 3650 doesn't offer a very big performance increase over the 2600 XT, but it is very energy efficient so great for laptop.

How about a GeForce 8400GT? Right now I'm looking at a HP dv6700t with Vista Ultimate, 3gb RAM, 120gb HDD, that card I asked about, 6 cell lithium ion battery (idk if i need better), core 2 duo 2.4ghz, at $1090 (not shipped). Screen resolution is 1280x800. But it says HD. Hopefully my dad will accept this. Plus it sounds like a nice build. What you guys thing?

Omg. I typed that wrong. It's not a 8400M GT it is a 8400M GS. Sorry Sorry Sorry. Will I see a big difference between a 8600M GT and a 8400M GS? If so, I might try a different brand like dell or something. Plus, I'm going to be ordering this with an educational discount as my dad is staff at WSU (Wichita State University)

Right now things are leaning towards a HP dv6700t or an Inspiron 1520/1525.

Man the 1520 doesn't have Vista...

edit: Dell is out of my list. Only one I like is XPS and they go way over what I can. HP so far is the winner even though it only has the 8400M GT.

Configurations?

Here's the HP one: (I have listed but I will list again on this page)
-Vista Ultimate
-C2D 2.40 GHz, 800MHz fsb, 3MB L2 Cache
-15.4" WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1280 x 800)
-3GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
-256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
-120GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
-6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
-SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-R/RW with Double Layer Support

All for: $1,087.99 before tax + S&H

Edit: Because 4GB of RAM would cost me $200 dollars more, should I downgrade to Vista Home Premium and save $60 bucks and invest it somewhere else? Btw, that's the best video card I can get for this specific model & that price does not count the discount my dad can get for being University staff.

Edit2: The notebook I want does not apply for an extra discount.

the 8400 absoluty is horrid for ne thing but causual stuff.

if ur gona game on the go, stay away from the 8400
