Default Buying a new HD

hello im new here and i need some help.

ok, i have had a IDE hard drive for 3 or 4 years, and it has given up on me.

So i need to buy a new HD. This is were i need your help :P

This is the link to my motherboard CLICK HERE

from what i can see, this board only takes IDE HD's. So if this is true, is there a way i can use a adaptor or something like that so i can purchase a better SATA HD. Or would this defeat the object of SATA by running it through adaptors or whatever.

I hope you can help me, and prehaps tell me what is the best option of HD for me, for my motherboard at around 80 British Pounds.

Thanks, Dan..

You don't really need SATA. THey go about the same speeds anyways even though they each have theoritical speed differences. Get this as a direct replacement:

SAMSUNG SpinPoint P80 Series SP1614N 160GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA133 Hard Drive - OEM

Yep, this one is what you should get. Don't crack yourself for getting an adaptor. Plus, it will bottleneck, since the fastest it could go is 133, not 150 or 200...Just get a regular HDD
