Smile Buy now or wait?

Building a PC which will be used for processing and editing large quantities of photo's file size's 15-20mb and 100+ files batched processed at a time as well as using photoshop cs2 and similar applications simultanously

I'v been looking at the Intel Q9450 (220) and Q6600 (150)
The Q9450 is out of stock everywhere I have looked (Uk sites) but is it worth waiting till they have it back in stock bearing in mind there is a 70 difference?

Motherboards I have been looking at are the asustek range but can't decide if I should go ddr3 or settle for a ddr2 board? Is there combo of board + memory that would be ideal for my needs?

Much appreciate any advice

The Q9450 is not officially released yet so there are no benchmarks. They should be out very soon though, so wait to see whether there is a decent performance increase before buying one. Scan.co.uk is also a good site BTW.

ah right, I was under the impression it was released and it was a stocking issue. I'v seen it for sale as in stock on a couple of US stores as well as ebay hence why I thought this.

Is there an eta of its launch?

The X3350's are released, which are the exact same as that quad, except slightly more expensive and have higher quality control

Launch should be a few weeks?
