Burning ideas - need help

I have a standard CD Burner that came with my Dell pc. I have burned music cd's from mp3's by simply using Windows XP's built in capabilities.

My question is now; I have pc games on CD that I wish to make copies of. The original cd's are starting to look "haggard". I only have one CD burner/drive so I would need to burn to the harddrive first correct? Then burn from the harddrive to the blank cd-r, correct?

Do I need special software to make this happen, like Nero, Roxio or something else? Any advice?

You can use Roxio or Nero to make an image of the cd, then pop in a blank cd and burn it onto that.
However, game cd's are often protected, so if you burn a copy, it may not work.
If you want to be sure to get a working copy, you can use Alcohol 120%.
