Default Building a New Computer | Now or Later??

Should I go ahead and order the parts or should I wait because people keep saying there's going to be a DRASTIC fall in prices and we should all wait to save lots of money.

Is this true?

The PC I was planning on building is a AMD (not 2, just the regular 939) and then the normal stuff.

No, you can order your parts for 939 now. I think only Intel prices will drop.

Nope. The AMD should drop on prices, or they like just did. Saw it in some article a few day ago. Dont remember when tho.

actually its amd thats having the drastic cut in prices because of the release of intels new cpu (conroe), they are dropping the prices on the same day as the release of the conroe to try and counter it somewhat, as for going with a socket 939 build i think its a bad idea, u should go with am2 because it will last a lot longer and u will actually be able to upgrade later, its also come down in price quite a bit now and will cost about the same

I'd wait till the prices go down and I'd also wait for dx10 vid cards to come out.

Yeah AMD is dropping their prices but I read on Dailytech that Intel is also dropping the prices on their Pentium D and Pentium 4 processors "between now and the general availability of Conroe"

Again

And go with a AM2 board instead trust me, upgrading to a 939 I wouldn't consider the smartest thing ATM. Go with a AM2 its much better.

Wait till July 24th as well before you buy any AMD products.
